Following in the footsteps of the 2007 ReCharge concept, Volvo has announced it is readying an all-electric version of its C30 compact hatchback. The C30 EV concept will not appear at September’s Frankfurt Motor Show, but will be unveiled at Volvo’s Innovation for Life event shortly after the show.
At the moment, Volvo is “not considering putting it into production”. But, with the start-stop-equipped C30 DRIVe due to land here next month and a diesel-electric hybrid Volvo slated to arrive in 2012, Volvo’s electric car may appear sometime in the next decade.
Any details on the concept failed to release by Volvo, but did confirm the C30 EV will be making an appearance at the Innovation for Life event.
The C30 hatchback also formed the basis for one of Volvo’s other green car concepts, the ReCharge plug-in hybrid.
