A new 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged BOXER engine producing 250 horsepower. The standard naturally aspirated 2.5-liter BOXER engine debuted in the outgoing Forester model. Fuel economy will be higher across the line with the debut of a new six-speed manual transmission and available Lineartronic continuously variable transmissions (CVT)
The Forester has increased in size with this latest generation. Its track has 0.8-inches wider, broadened its wheelbase by an inch and expanded overall length by 1.4 inches. It has even grown taller by over an inch.
The chassis was tuned exclusively for the turbo-charged model. Suspension rigidity was reinforced for better stability during high speed driving. Vehicle sway was minimized due to damper tuning and enlarged stabilizer diameter, turbo models offer superior stability when changing lanes and cornering.
The interior design suggests spaciousness as well as boldness and provides a powerful look as a SUV, with a quality feel due to its sophisticated shape and soft touch materials. The instrument panel is styled to add to the spacious atmosphere. Soft touch materials enhance the feeling of quality in the cabin.
