The Challenger is available in three trims which are base, R/T and SRT8. The base trim is powered by a new 305-hp 3.6-litre V6 with a 5-speed automatic transmission. The R/T’s 5.7-liter HEMI V8 features 372 horsepower with the standard 5-speed automatic with sequential shift control, and 376 horsepower with the optional 6-speed manual. The SRT8’s 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine is mated to a standard 5-speed automatic with sequential shift control or an optional 6-speed manual, and produces 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.
Safety features include in this muscle car are side curtain airbags for front and rear occupants, front-seat side-impact airbags, electronic stability system, antilock brakes and active front head restraints.
The strong features for this car are compliant ride, spacious and comfortable cabin, strong V6 and V8 engines, huge trunk, upscale interior quality and distinctive exterior styling. But the car has compromised rear visibility and handling not as sharp as rivals.
The Challenger continues its retro-themed looks on the inside with its gauge cluster and black headliner. In manual-transmission cars, the shifter features a unique pistol-grip design. Other interior features include standard cloth upholstery, optional leather, standard power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats optional, standard automatic air conditioning, standard cruise control, standard remote start on automatic-transmission cars, and standard 60/40-split folding rear bench with armrest and two cupholders.
