A mid-size luxury sedan with seating for five, the 2013 Acura TL is a unique blend of safety, sport, and reliability. Under the hood drivers will find a standard 3.5-liter V6 engine capable of producing 280 hp and 254 lb-ft of torque, for a 0-100km/h of 6.4 seconds. For additional performance Acura offers an optional 3.7-liter V6 engine that yields 305 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. The standard engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission while the optional 3.7-liter V6 has the option of a 6-speed manual transmission.
Acura reduced the silver shield grille and added a horizontal crease in the bumper that makes the silver segment seem smaller still. The front overhang is shorter, and the headlights and turn-signal lights have been revised. Around back, Acura removed the chrome-under-glass look of the taillights and shaved some mass out of the bumper below them to make the car less blocky.
Safety features includes are front-seat side-impact torso airbags, side curtain airbags, antilock brakes, electronic stability system, and available blind spot warning system. Features include xenon HID headlights, moonroof, 18-inch alloy wheels, navigation, leather upholstery, heated seats, automatic climate control, hands-free phone connectivity, and rear-view camera.
And in general, the back seat is adult-sized, with space for three across. It might appear from the outside that rear headroom might be very limited by the arch and downslope of the roofline, but with seat contouring, it works. Those space-efficient origins make the TL more passenger-friendly than most other luxury sedans with its exterior dimensions while of course the TL is more lavishly appointed through and through.
