2012 MORGAN 3 WHEELER
All-new 3 Wheeler comes to no surprise that Morgan is looking into its past to find a way into the future. It is which comes some 58 years after the demise of the original model that was produced from 1909 up until 1953, now revealed here for the first time in real life.
The new Morgan 3 Wheeler will receive its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show with sales to follow shortly after.
Morgan claimed that the bullet shaped three wheeler was designed to emulate the styling of an airplane -hence the WW2 military aircraft like graphics on the presentation model. Morgan said that buyers can choose from a variety of graphics including US military and British Air Force inspired logos, oval racing numbers and stripes, a shark nose, chequered winner’s bonnet, official national flags and the Morgan wings.
2012 Morgan 3 Wheeler is support by a V Twin fuel injected motorcycle engine from specialist engine builder S & S. It produces 115-horses and is mated to a Mazda-sourced 5 speed transmission with a reverse gear. Morgan had previously stated that the 3 Wheeler would be fitted with a 100HP V-Twin Harley Davidson motor, but apparently the company’s plans changed in the meantime.
Also a polished engine, stainless steel tailpipes, cowl, polished cowl, headlamps and roll hoops are also extra cost options for those looking for a more classic look.
While at the airplane theme is fitted with the leather padded cockpit complete with aircraft like instrumentation. The company offers several options including bespoke leather upholstery.
2012 SAAB 9-5 SPORTWAGON
Saab as the Swedish company is planning to launch two world premieres including the 9-5 SportWagon along with the unveiling of the modestly updated 9-3 Griffin range and the limited production 9-3 Convertible Independence Edition.
The much awaited Saab 9-5 SportWagon makes its world debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. This five-door partner for the new 9-5 Saloon will offer a compelling alternative choice in the large wagon segment and, in many European markets, is expected to sell in even greater volumes than its four-door peer.
Saab released a new gallery of photos of the all-important 9-5 SportWagon, The more practical variant of the 9-5 series will be offered with a similar mix of turbocharged diesel and gasoline motors with sales scheduled to start in the Fall of 2011.
Along with the announcement on the 9-5 SportWagon, Saab claimed the concept car will showcase design features and technologies to be seen in the next generation of products from Saab, adding that it introduces styling themes drawn from the company’s Scandinavian and aircraft-inspired design heritage. Saab also noted that the design study will feature an all wheel drive system with an electrically powered rear axle, which most likely points to a hybrid model.
