UMP RECEIVES 13 INDUSTRIAL ROBOT FROM PERODUA.
KUANTAN, Dec 29 — Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) on Tuesday received 13 industrial robots worth RM2.6 million contributed by Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua).
The industrial robots were used to assemble Perodua models namely the Kenari, Kancil and Kelisa cars.
Deputy Higher Education Minister, Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah in his speech at the handing-over ceremony of the robots, said they were to be used in the learning process at the university.
The collaboration between UMP and Perodua not merely involved a contribution of robots but involved technology transfer as well through training in robotic operations.
The text of his speech was readout by the Chairman of the university’s board of directors, Datuk Mohd Hilmey Mohd Taib.
Also present was Perodua Managing Director, Datuk Syed Hafiz Syed Abu Bakar.
