PROTON already launched a special edition of its Frost & Sullivan’s Best Model of the year 2009, the SAGA Special Edition which features new enhancements on 8 July 2009. Special about Saga SE? Lets take a look. Is it so special? For us, it is looks like a Saga with set of bodykits.
Our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak launched the Proton SAGA SE, a premium and sporty variant to the existing model and also Proton Exora manual edition in the Felda Settlers day or Hari Peneroka celebrations at Felda Labis.The pepole who live in Felda Labis are so lucky because they can see the the new model in front of them.
As a premium variant of one of PROTON’s cheapest cars, the Proton SAGA SE boasts a new interior finishing complete with leather seats, door trims, a leather wrapped steering wheel, pearl white meter panel finishing and a CD player with MP3 capability.
For the engine, the new Proton Saga SE still using the 1.3 liter Campro IAFM engine that is found in the rest of the Saga BLM.Except for the 1.6 for the taxi.The SAGA SE is estimated to be sold at RM43,000 for manual and RM45,500 for the automatic variants respectively. It is now available for booking for RM500, but the cars will only however be available for sale at all Proton Edar and EON showrooms from the 15th of August 2009 onwards.
From our point of view, Proton should make the exhaust of the Saga SE visible. Maybe they can add the double chrome exhaust at the two holes.
So, what is the special about Proton Saga SE? Below are the details that will make you see it clearly.Proton should put more enhancements to make it to be more special right?
– Two colours offered – brilliant red or solid white handsomely dressed up with stylish black finishing roof top.
– A new front grille with black finish.
– New front, rear and side skirts.
– Leather seats, door trim and wrapped steering wheel.
– Dark chrome air-conditioning vents.
– Pearl white meter panel finishing.
– CD player with MP3 support.
Product enhancements are a continuous process in PROTON to offer more value to their customers. The launch of the new SAGA SE is aimed to excite new buyers and make them view the car as their first choice. They also said that the new SAGA SE was targeted to the youngsters who want to be different.

Everything ok good job..proton cant do to much bcoz price could be more. So for me it not to bad..leather seat/stearing/gear knob/paddle/meterpanel/some body kit all done well.
Just quality of material still not satisfy.

Aku klau ada rezeki nak jg layan Saga ni. Tapi rasanya amik yang biasa je tapi AT lah. Maklumlah bukan nak merempit…utk bersantai2 je. Lepas tu ada budget leh modifikasi sendiri. Walau aku tak pakai Proton sekarang ni tapi aku minat juga kat Saga ni. Model Saga ni aku rasa akan bertahan lama. Simple + mantap. Harga pun ok, tapi interest bank je yang aku tak berkenan.

Kira okey lah tu.. nak special camana lagi. Bagi aku BLM ni comei aper, enjin pun power dan ringan ajer. sesuai untuk mereka yg berkemampuan sederhana. Service pun okey, defect sana sini lepas dua tiga tahun tu standard lah. Harga pun kecil ajer.

Kereta proton tak de qualiti. Dulu saya guna proton Waja. asyik banyak repair walaupun kereta baru. Coil rosak, radiator bocor, pum rosak, tingkap ro sak (power window). Kereta lama mcm Nissan sunny, Toyota corolla lama, malah Morris Minor lebih berkualiti dari proton. I dah rugi banyak amat sangat dari pembelian proton waja. Not worth for money.
Anak Malaysia,
Kadang2 tak semua orang bernasib baik, dapat kereta yg tak banyak ragam, tak kira apa kereta pun. Kadang2 bengkel yg kita hantar repair pun ada strategi nyer juga untuk memastikan kita kunjung selalu.
Pengalaman aku (Waja Campro) pernah aku hantar bengkel (sebelah bulatan Jln Lok Yew) untuk buat balancing dan alignment tayar. Bengkel ini dah jadi panel aku, ape2 hal aku akan hantar kesana. Lepas siap adjust, sorang mekanik dia yg muda (budak baru) pun test drive keta aku kejalan utama. Dia punya enjut kereta aku dah macam Van Diesel dalam cerita Fast drift, kecut2 perut aku tengok dari bengkel (Taukeh dia geleng kepala gak). dalm hati aku menyumpah2 bukan aper takut eksiden ajer. Kalau ye pun jgnlah depan aku, aku tau lah keta Waja aku tuh power. Tapi aku selalu layan macam kucing manja , skema aje. Nasib baik tak ada apa2.
Tapi besoknya bila aku nak bawak, gearbox dah buat hal, payah nak masuk gear. Ini dah tentu clutch plate dia jahanam sebab mekanik semalam tuh. Aku datang balik kat bengkel tuh kasi maki satu tong kat mekanik tuh serta Taukeh dia. walaupun dia tak nak tanggung kerosakan tu, tapi dia sudah hilang sorang customer setia dia.
Kesimpulan nyer, kerosakan yg berturut2 tu kadang2 merupakan strategi bengkel sendiri. wallahualam.
Betul tu. Dulu kdi punye kereta slalu kena buat alignment. sebab antar kat kedai yg x jujur. die lepas buat alignment x ketatkan betul2. so x tahan lama. asyik ke workshop je. pastu gi satu kedai lain yg jujur ckit, dkat 2 tahun xyah buat alignment. dorang ni pandai gak cari makan.
agi satu, ni topic pasal saga SE. so kalo nak cerita pasal keburukan proton yg lama, cari la thread lain eh. ni cerita baru beb. macam manusia jgak. kalo dulu korang jahat, xkan smpai skang korang still nk jadi jahat agi. mesti ada perubahan kan.

minat ke bumper saga SE tu? kalo kdi, kdi lagi prefer custom sendiri bumper blakang tu. tambah skirting airmaster lagi umph dari saga se punye bumper dummy exoz tu.. padahal xde lubang exoz pon. menjawab soalan Farid, buat masa ni belum ada lagi aksesori bumper saga SE kat kedai bodykit. tapi boleh tanya kat proton parts center mesti ada jual punya.

Mike kalo tak kerana Proton kebanyakan org yang berpendapatan rendah tak mungkin pakai kete.Honda?Second hand pun cekik darah blum masuk kos repair tu.Pengalaman gua pakai Civic EG di Singapura dudlu.Beli thn 2000 dah 6 thn status second hand.Pakai 1 minggu gi JB radiator buat hal.Tukar hose,drain coolant,check kipas kena RM100,lepas 2 hari compressor condem,Ok tukar kat agen $300.Lagi satu hari exhaust gasket bocor,Minyak mentekedarah.Harapkan reputasi Honda tapi brg mahal nak mampus dah mcm harge part kete besar.Thn 2004 gua hanta scrap dapat lah dlm $6K buat modal beli Starlet GT dari kwn yang jaga kete mcm beruang.Gua hantar spray,Tukar brg2 harga part boleh thn jugak lebih krg Honda.Dua2 best,Pick up top speed tapi bila masalah timbul aduss…Pernah nak dekat 1 bln gua pakai motor sebab enjin kena overhaul.Last gua beranikan diri pakai Saga BLM thn 08 dan sampai skrg takde problem pun.Spare part pun gua dah recci lebih murah dan berpatutan.Biarlah org nak ckp apepun janji gua happy pakai.

bab tu banyak kemungkinan.myvi ringan so teknikal pick up pukul habis,tapi saga kalau high speed giler nye myvi ringan goyang terasa.
MYVI mmg hoyong hayang bile laju,sbb badan die kompak..
BLM lebih stabil body die kan norman..
