2014 AUDI S3 SPORTBACK

The four-cylinder engine in the S3 Sportback has been overhauled. The only thing in common with its predecessor is a displacement of 1,984 cc. Its rated output of 221 kW is available at 5,500 rpm, maximum torque of 380 Nm is constantly available from 1,800 to 5,500 rpm.

The high performance four cylinder engine responds immediately to the driver’s wishes and boasts a sportily sonorous sound. When the Audi drive select system is in dynamic mode, the engine’s power is also underscored acoustically. The 2.0 TFSI provides power and exemplary efficiency alike by relying on many new technologies, ranging from dual injection through the Audi valvelift system and an exhaust manifold integrated within the cylinder head to innovative thermal management.

When equipped with the optional six speed S tronic, the S3 Sportback sprints from 0 to 100 km/h  in only 5.0 seconds. The six-speed manual transmission needs just five-tenths of a second more. Top speed is electronically governed at 250 km/h. Launch Control delivers the engine’s power to the road with defined tire slip. The 2.0 TFSI consumes just 6.9 liters per 100 km on average when paired with the S tronic with the manual transmission. This engine thus requires 1.5 liters per 100 km less compared to the previous S3 Sportback.

The lower gears of both transmissions are tightly spaced for sporty performance while the tall sixth gear reduces fuel consumption. The dual-clutch transmission can be controlled via optional shift paddles on the steering wheel and offers the automatic modes D and S in addition to manual mode.

Equipped with quattro permanent all-wheel drive and a redesigned multi-plate clutch, this new high-end vehicle in the model line can accelerate more quickly and safely when exiting a corner. It is dynamic and stable in all conditions, even rain or snow. The front axle is 52 millimeters (2.05 in) farther forward compared to the previous model. The 2.0 TFSI is more than five kilograms (11.02 lb) lighter than the previous engine and is tilted backward by 12 degrees.

In addition to a sophisticated suspension and the S sport suspension, which lowers the body by 25 millimeters, the axle-load distribution (59% to 41%, front to rear) and new, progressive steering contribute significantly to sporty handling. The key to progressive steering is that steering movements determine the steering ratio. This results in stable and virtually neutral steering characteristics for outstanding precision during sporty driving and easier steering while parking.

Volkswagen revealed its dedicated lineup at the annual RETTmobil exhibition, which is dedicated to emergency and rescue vehicles.

The new Sharan is equipped with the 170HP version of VW’s 2.0-liter TDI engine linked to a six-speed DSG gearbox. The minivan features a special signal system with LED technology and is fitted with a remote speaker. The Passat Variant four-wheel drive adds to the mix in the engine and gearbox. Both cars have base Candy White paint and are fitted with front and rear flashing lights.

2011 VOLKSWAGEN SHARAN

The new display is equipped with a 245HP diesel engine 3.0-liter. It features blue front and rear flashing lights plus a special signal system with LED technology. There’s also the Touran as a covert police car equipped with an accident data storage system and a run-safe mode that allows the engine to function even if the keys are removed from the ignition.

2012 AUDI Q3 + 2011 BMW GT3 RACER GETS UPDATE

Above are official teaser sketches of Audi Q3 ‘baby’ SUV model. The car will make its world premiere at the Shanghai Auto Show later this month. The crossover model will be built at Seat’s Martorell plant in Spain and will be based on the same architecture as the VW Tiguan.

Previously, the new Q3 will arrive in European showrooms this fall, most likely in September or October, depending on the market. However, the front end of the production Q3 seems changed in comparison with the aforementioned concept, with the headlights sporting a thinner, stretched shape and being mirrored in the lower side of the bumper by the spaces for the fog lights.

While the rear car looks similar to the concept, with the exception of the tailgate window angle, which is not as inclined as on the Cross Coupe quattro.

The interior reveal a similar shaped steering wheel and instrument panel, with changes having been made to the center console, where the gearshift lever appears to look more conventional than on the 2007 concept car.

The Audi Q3 will be available three powertrain options a 170PS 2.0-liter TFSI with a 6-speed manual gearbox and CO2 emissions of 172 gr/km; a 211PS 2.0-liter TFSI with an S Tronic transmission and CO2 emissions of 184 gr/km, and a 170PS 2.0-liter TDI diesel and an with an S Tronic transmission and CO2 emissions of 158 gr/km.

2011 BMW GT3 RACER GETS UPDATE

Bavarian automaker has gone ahead and improved aerodynamic efficiency in order to ensure the car’s competitiveness in Z4 GT3 racer classes. The firm’s engineers fine-tuned the aerodynamics of the Z4 GT3 for the new season, while also updating the 4.4-liter V8 engine’s electronics. Power continues to be transmitted through a six-speed sequential gearbox, however, gearshifts are now initiated using two paddles.

The BMW Z4 GT3 Racer achieved its greatest success to date in January 2011 in the hands of Claudia Hürtgen (DE), BMW works driver Augusto Farfus (BR), Tommy Milner (US) and Edward Sandström (SE), that won the Dubai 24 Hours for Team Schubert.

2012 OPEL ASTRA ECOFLEX HATCHBACK FOR EUROPE

The new Opel Astra’s European lineup more fuel efficien with 2.0 CDTI 160HP comes equipped the ecoFLEX package, which includes Start/Stop functionality. Already available for the Astra 1.3 CDTI, the package is offered as an optional extra for the 2.0-liter diesel hatchback and Sports Tourer models in combination with the six-speed manual transmission.

Thanks to the ecoFLEX technology, it is lowers fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, especially in city traffic, where the Astra 2.0 CDTI hatchback can save up to 0.8 liters per 100 kilometers, equal to a 13 percent reduction over the standard model without the package.

2012 Opel Astra ecoFLEX 2.0 CDTI hatch has a rating of 4.5 liters/100 km (52.26 mpg US), 0.4 liters less than the “normal” model. CO2 emissions are also down from 129 to 119 grams per kilometer. When fitted to an Astra Sports Tourer, the ecoFLEX package lowers average fuel consumption by 0.4 liters/100 km to 4.7 liters/100 km, while also reducing CO2 emissions from 134 to 124 g/km.

Other than the Start/Stop system, the package includes the CleanTech Combustion Technology for the 2.0 CDTI unit, which promises clean combustion while also reducing engine noise by means of adjusting fuel injection to the combustion process in real time. As with the 1.3-liter ecoFLEX model, the 2.0-liter version sports an active aero shutter incorporated in the front grille and refined underbody aerodynamics.

Opel also announced that all Astra model equipped with a manual-transmission will be fitted from now on with a shift indicator showing the driver the ideal moment to change gear in order to improve fuel economy.

2011 SUZUKI SWIFT X-ITE SPORT ACCESSORIES

2011 Suzuki Swift supermini has developed a new range of factory accessories for Germany Market, the car called “X-ITE” brand. It for a more individual look for their car includes a variety of styling parts for both the interior and exterior of the new generation Swift.

The exterior gets a new body kit to improve the Swift’s curb appeal and to a lesser extent, aerodynamics. It includes a front apron, side skirts, a roof spoiler and a rear apron. The wheel arches can be filled out with a new set of 17-inch alloy wheels shod in 205/40 R17 performance tires, while the exterior look is complemented by contrasting stripes with the “X-ITE” logo.

While the Swift’s interior gets some attention as well with an aluminum sport shift knob, stainless steel door sills and black floor mats with silver stitching and an embroidered logo.
