The Infiniti Emerg-E Concept, which made its debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, is a highly advanced mid-ship sports car that provides an exciting glimpse into Infiniti’s future. Infiniti Emerg-E is physical proof of Infiniti’s intention to produce a bold halo model befitting the brand’s promise of Inspired Performance, and also signals an array of exciting new technologies that the brand will adopt in its quest to build dramatic and sustainable high performance cars. Infiniti Emerg-E also provides a fresh expression of Infiniti’s design language applied to a high performance, mid-ship sports car for the first time.

Infiniti Emerg-E is also significant for being the first Infiniti that has been developed in Europe. More than that, its advanced technology deliberately draws on the knowledge of suppliers beyond Infiniti’s usual base in the quest to uncover the most innovative hardware and the deepest knowledge base.

Within its compact 4.464m length the two-seater Infiniti Emerg-E contains a pair of electric motors, a lithium-ion battery pack, four inverters, a three-cylinder range-extending internal combustion engine and a petrol tank. All this is efficiently wrapped within highly aerodynamic, light bodywork characterised by a design fluency that could only come from Infiniti.

Infiniti Emerg-E is a highly advanced, mid-ship, electric motors powered sports car concept. It projects Infiniti’s already-advanced electric vehicle technology deep into the future with a range-extender powertrain that delivers the performance expected of sports car bearing the Infiniti badge. Combining thrilling performance with the scope to drive in urban conditions for up to 30 miles with zero emissions, it emits no more than 55g/km of CO2 (NEDC cycle) over a 300 mile combined range. Infiniti Emerg-E lays down a radical new marker for mid-ship sports cars, and explores one of a number of the alternative propulsion avenues that Infiniti is considering.

Creating a sporty, dynamic and unusual flagship is one inspiration for the Infiniti Emerg-E programme, but equally important is Infiniti’s continued exploration of alternative propulsion systems, a logical next-step for a company that is already selling the advanced Infiniti M35h. PROTON EXORA BAGS 2 AWARDS AT RAC 2011 FUTURE CAR CHALLENGE

Last year, our national MPV had won the “Best Range Extender EV” award at the Brighton To London Future Car Challenge.In last year challenge, the Exora REEV only uses 2 litre of petrol for 4 hours of journey which covers 60 miles (around 100km). Getting 50km/litre, the Exora Extended Range EV beating 63 other competing vehicles in the Best Range Extender Electric Vehicle category. The Saga EV also participated, and was close to winning its EV category. PROTON BAGS 2 AWARDS AT RAC FUTURE CAR CHALLENGE

LONDON (Nov 6, 2011): The Proton Exora Range Extender Electric Vehicle (REEV) bagged the Best Overall Extender Range/Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle and the Most Energy Efficient Multi-Purpose Car-Prototype awards at the second Royal Automobile Club (RAC) 2011 Future Car Challenge Brighton to London.

The motoring contest, organised by the United Kingdom RAC, is the world’s largest live demonstration of electric, hybrid and low-emission internal combustion engine passenger cars.

A total of 70 cars took part in 17 categories this year.

Proton participated in the Electric Vehicle category for the Saga Electric, REEV for the Exora REEV and Persona Elegance REEV this year.

Last year, the Proton Exora REEV won in the “Best E-Reev Vehicle” category.

However, the Exora REEV tipped the star with a significant achievement this year as despite minor technical glitches it made it to the finishing line.

Exora REEV’s participation in the challenge was a result of collaboration with UK-based technology partner Frazer-Nash Research Limited.

Exora co-pilot Rozadatul Intan Safrina Che Rus, an engineer with the Component & Commissioning Section of Proton’s Green Technology Department, was a proud Malaysian who was elated at being able to make the country proud through Proton’s participation.

Exora REEV was certainly a prominent name in the REEV segment now, as well as, the global green automotive industry.

“The victory was unexpected. Less than a mile we got stranded for about 10 minutes but we managed to recover the energy and moved on.

“When my pilot Pavol Biro and me passed the finishing line, we weren’t happy and not confident that we will win this year, but when it was announced that the Exora REEV won, I could not describe how happy I was,” she told members of Malaysian media after the awards dinner on Saturday.

The participants left Madeira Drive in Brighton early Sunday morning and the ceremonial finish was held at the Waterloo Place after a mandatory stop in Central Sussex College in Crawley.

The vehicles then left to be displayed at Regent Street in London.

Meanwhile, Datuk Zainuddin Che Din, Proton Board Project Director, Green Technology Department, said the victory proved that Proton had the winning technology and thanked Frazer-Nash for its valuable contribution.

“We hope to put our system into production soon,” he added.

BRISTOL CARS TO USE TECHNOLOGY THAT THEY DEVELOPED WITH PROTON

Early August this year, we have heard the news that Bristol Cars new owners, Kamkorp Autokraft, part of the Fraser-Nash group plan to use a system they have developed with Proton, owners of Lotus, to produce a new Bristol capable of 200mph and the equivalent of 100mpg.They are set to return with a four wheel drive range extender EV.

2011 CHEVROLET VOLT MPV 5 CONCEPT

Dave Barthmuss, told Brad Berman from Plugincars that the company may surprise us at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show with a new model, hinting at a plug-in hybrid crossover. That has announced at a recent event called “Charged 2011  EV Symposium Silicon Valley”.  Chevrolet has already shown a similar concept with the Chevrolet Volt MPV5 Concept, so it is quite possible that the car we will see it the production version of the study.

According the general news, the Chevrolet Volt MPV5 Concept uses a 152 PS (150 HP) electric motor that is charged by a 16 kWh lithium-ion battery, along with a 1.4-liter gasoline unit. The combustion engine’s purpose is to act purely as a generator, extending the hybrid’s range from a stingy 51.5 km (32 miles) on battery power alone to up to 482 km (300 miles).

However, Barthmuss did not rule out the possibility of an EV in the near future, powered either by a modified version of the Volt’s powertrain without the range extender, or an entirely new system.

2011 AUDI A1 TDI

Audi Automaker launches the new Audi A1 TDI 1.6 with increased fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions has been introduced into the British market.

The Ingolstadt firm’s engineers optimized the 1.6-liter turbo diesel’s fuel system and engine management software on the new Audi A1 TDI, and as a result, reduced CO2 output from 105g/km to 99g/km, and boosted its combined economy figure from 70.6mpg UK to 74.3mpg UK (equal to 3.8 lt/100 km and 61.9mpg US).

The new Audi A1 TDI 1.6 also get standard feature to all three trim levels include alloy wheels, remote central locking, air conditioning, electric front windows and mirrors and a six-speaker single CD audio system with auxiliary iPod connection linked to a 6.5-inch retractable display.
