 Renault has launched its new SUV the Koleos in Malaysia with the price of Renault Koleos around RM213,149 bringing another SUV 4×4 variant into Malaysian Market. read further news from thestar below.
PUTRAJAYA: Renault’s first proper sports utility vehicle (SUV), the Koleos, was unveiled to the media on Wednesday night, the product of the French marque’s alliances with its various Asian partners.

Priced at RM213,149 (on the road excluding insurance), the fully imported Koleos taps into the Renault-Nissan Alliance for its drivetrain and 4X4 system which were developed by Nissan.
 
It marries that to the design, ride, handling and ergonomics from Renault and to keep costs lower, it is manufactured by Renault-Samsung in Busan, Korea.
 
The spacious, mid-sized Koleos is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 170 bhp and 226 Nm of torque paired to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

It boasts genuine off-road capabilities with the comfort and ease of driving of a saloon car. Local Renault distributor TC Euro Cars Sdn Bhd (TCEC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tan Chong Motor Holdings, is expecting to import 60 units per year of the Koleos, its Head of Operations, Kuan Kim Luen, said.
 
“There does exist within the market a group of drivers that favor a SUV but require a drive experience equivalent to that of a sedan. This is where Renault’s expertise in ride and handling comes into play,” Kuan said.
 
The Koleos marks a continuation of the niche strategy that TCEC has employed where the current automotive tax structure favors Completely Knocked Down (CKD) over Completely Built Up( CBU) models.
 
Kuan said it would be difficult for any company to favorably price-position a CBU against a CKD vehicle.
 
The strategy involves importing selected unique vehicles that command a niche position in the local market.
 
CBU models are also being moved away from segments which are currently dominated by established CKD operators.
 
TCEC’s CBU programme remains a complementary element to the local assembly program which currently includes models like the Kangoo.
 
It is understood that a new line-up of of CKD models are currently being discussed with Renault and should be making their way here in the not too distant future.
 
The Koleos White Edition is based on the Dynamique equipment level, this special run features two-tone leather upholstery as standard, as well as Carminat Bluetooth® DVD navigation, the Bose® Sound System, new aluminium alloy 18-inch wheels and a specific Mineral Beige body colour, plus chrome skid plates, extra-tinted rear glass and a rear lip spoiler.
 
The interior features two-tone upholstery and gloss black dashboard trimming details, while the chrome air-vent controls and instrument surrounds add a further touch of elegance to the already chic, refined ambiance.

Renault Koleos White Edition combines sophisticated styling with travelling comfort thanks to features such as the electrically-adjustable driver’s seat and Bose® audio system.
The latter was engineered specifically to match Renault Koleos’ interior and comprises a digital amplifier, seven loudspeakers and a woofer. The hi-fi quality sound reproduction enables occupants to savour their favourite music whether they are listening to the radio, to the MP3-compatible CD player with six-CD multichanger or to an iPod-type external source plugged into the centre console.
