2011 MAZDA 787B RACER

The Mazda 787B as legendary racer  with sported a carbonfibre body, an output of 700 PS and a 210 mph (338 km/h) top speed.  The number 55 car, driven by Johnny Herbert, Volker Weidler and Bertrand Gachot, took the chequered flag after having completed 362 laps and 3,065 miles (4,928 km), with the two other Mazda 787B Racecar’s finishing in the top 10.

The Mazda 787B is bringing its carefully restored legendary racer to the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The number 55 car, driven by Johnny Herbert, Volker Weidler and Bertrand Gachot, took the chequered flag after having completed 362 laps and 3,065 miles (4,928 km), with the two other 787Bs finishing in the top 10.

In addition, beside the Mazda 787B Racer, Automaker also will bring to Goodwood the 275-bhp MX-5 GT, which thanks to its power and low weight of only 850 kg accelerates from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3,0 seconds. Also present will be a tuned by “Banzai Magazine” MX-5 Roadster Coupe, and a classic 1967 Cosmo Sport.

2012 JAGUAR XF 2.2 DIESEL

2012 Jaguar XF  2.2 Diesel saloon will be as the most fuel-efficient model in its history, the car with the four-cylinder XF covering a distance of 816 miles or 1,312 kilometers on 64 liters of diesel fuel, which gives an average fuel economy of 57mpg UK, equal to 4.9 lt/100km and 47.5 mpg US.

2012 Jaguar XF car run produces  with 190-horses and 332 lbs ft of torque allowing the XF to accelerate from naught to 62mph (100km/h)in 8.5-seconds before reaching a top speed of 140mph (225 km/h).  The four-pot is connected to a new eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox and, in a first for Jaguar, a Stop-Start system.

The company set out to complete a journey from its factory at Castle Bromwich in Birmingham, UK, to Munich, Germany, on a single tank of fuel. It will join the rest of the facelifted Jaguar XF range in Europe this September.

2012 JAGUAR XF

Jaguar XF and XFR sedans are revealed in a world premiere at the New York Auto Show. Jaguar tried to bring the XF into line with the new XJ especially up front with the new and sleeker headlamp designs that incorporate LED daytime running lights arranged in a distinctive Jaguar ‘J-Blade’ signature.

In North America, the 2012 XF continues with the existing engine lineup that includes a 385HP 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated V8, a 470HP 5.0-liter supercharged V8 and a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 with 510HP in the XFR.

While In Europe and other markets, however, Jaguar is introducing the 2.2-liter four-cylinder AJ-i4D turbo diesel, which is a development of the Ford unit found in the Land Rover Freelander. The oil burner puts out 190HP and 450Nm of peak torque, and is linked to a new 8-speed automatic transmission.

2011 MERCEDES BENZ A-CLASS CONCEPT

Mercedes-Benz showed off its dynamic A-Class concept to the crowds of New York, and confirmed that the production model will head to North America. In Europe, the production A-Class will launch next year. As for the US, Autonews reported that Joachim Schmidt, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Mercedes-Benz Cars, would not specify a time frame vaguely stating that the A-Class would arrive “some time in this decade.”

Mercedes-Benz A-Class concept sports an impressive design with lines inspired from the F800 Style study and the latest CLS, however, it remains to be seen if the production model will remain faithful to the radical study. The concept model is built on Mercedes-Benz’s new MFA platform architecture with power being provided by a 210HP 2.0-liter turbocharged unit linked to a dual-clutch transmission

The same platform will form the based for at least three more body styles in the segment including a five-door hatchback and possibly, roadster and sedan variants. The A-Class will compete against the BMW 1_Series and the Audi A3.

2011 LEXUS GS 460

Now nearing the end of its third generation, the GS slots in above the sporty IS and below the luxury-laden LS. It’s sized about like the tremendously popular ES 350, but the GS offers rear-wheel-drive and a much higher price tag – not to mention the optional V8 seen in our tester.

Its basic style is derivative of the original Giugiaro-penned 1991 GS300 (a rebadged Toyota Aristo), but the latest car was introduced for 2006. Smoother and suaver than the second-generation GS notable for its Shakespearean “Something wicked this way comes” ad campaign the S190-platform car retains the two-engine configuration of its predecessor.

Equipped with a V8 engine, the GS’ biggest traditional rivals come from Germany namely the BMW 550i and Mercedes-Benz E550. But can-do home-market competitor Infiniti’s new M56 presents serious competition, as does the shapely Jaguar XF.

Here’s where the GS is starting to show its age. Conventional switchgear contrasts with the ever-complex interior configurations found in the rest of the segment. Where rivals have touch screens and buttons galore, a base GS (not our tester) features simple climate and audio controls. With the optional navigation package, Lexus’ standard – and rather dated touch screen display is added.

The Fuga is a full-size luxury car from Nissan of Japan, introduced in October 2004. The Fuga is a rear wheel drive sedan riding on a stretched version of the Nissan FM platform, used by the Nissan Skyline.

The Fuga is a direct competitor to the Toyota Crown, Honda Legend, Mercedes-Benz E-class, Audi A6, BMW 5 series, and Jaguar XF.

The name of the vehicle was inspired by a type of classical music, called Fugue.

Seven body colours are available on the Fuga, including five all-new colors – Crystal White Pearl, with three coats of pearl paint; metallic Blade Silver; a pearl metallic Stratosphere Blue; a metallic Warm Satin Silver; and a titanium metallic Titanium Gray. Nissan’s advanced “Scratch Shield” – a special “self-healing” clearcoat paint treatment – is also available on three colors – Super Black, Stratosphere Blue and Titanium Gray.

Technology

Fuga is one of Nissan’s most technologically advanced vehicles, and the  Fuga carries forward that reputation. Standard on all models is an HDD-based CARWINGS navigation system, along with a standard side blind-spot monitor and back-view monitor. Also available is a factory-installed Bose® surround sound audio system.

The highlight of the new Fuga’s technology is the adoption of the world’s first Distance Control Assist (Intelligent Pedal) System, which is standard on the 450GT Type P/Type S and 350GT Type P and optional on the other models. Using an accelerator pedal actuator, this system assists drivers in controlling the distance between their car and the vehicle in front, reducing the driver’s workload in a variety of driving situations – from city driving to expressway cruising.

Also available is a revised Intelligent Cruise Control system incorporating “all-speed following capability” and the world’s first “navigation-cooperative control function,” standard on the 450GT Type P/Type S, 450GT and 350GT Type P, and optional on other models. This system has the capability of stopping the Fuga when the vehicle in front comes to a stop, and can control vehicle speed from a standing start to approximately 100 km/h (the previous system had a range of 5 km/h to 100 km/h). Additionally, the new system features a “navigation-cooperative control function” that assists in controlling the Fuga’s speed according to the reading of an upcoming curve in the road.
