2011 MAZDA BT-50 FREESTYLE

Mazda unwrapped its all-new BT-50 compact pickup truck in double-cab form at the 2010 Australian International Motor Show (AIMS) in Sydney. Now, the Japanese automaker is preparing the next addition to its BT-50 family, the Freestyle Cab version featuring a similar door configuration to the firm’s four-door RX-8 coupe, which will also make its world premiere on Australian soil at the 2011 AIMS to be held in Melbourne from July 1 to 10.

In addition, Mazda has lengthened the rear cushions by 50mm for improved thigh support and more stable fitment of child seats while the seatback height has been increased by 128mm compared to the current model. If the owner needs to utilize the cabin space, the rear seat cushions can be removed.

2012 CHEVROLET IMPALA POLICE CAR

The Detroit automaker stated that the 2012 Impala for the public will go on sale this month and will get the additional horsepower and fuel economy of the police derivative.

Along with the new engine and transmission, the 2012 Impala Police car will be the first of the series to adopt GM’s electronic stability control technology called StabilTrak, while upgrades to the brake system shorten vehicle’s 60-0 mph stopping distance to 132 feet. A fine-tuning of the steering and suspension systems promise to reduce body roll and improve handling, while GM has also fitted the police version with Goodyear’s Eagle RS-A all-season tires that have a W speed rating (up to 140 mph or 225 km/h).

2012 VAUXHALL ZAFIRA TOURER

Zafira tourer concept, first at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, will be a production reality, with the first cars in UK showrooms early in 2012. it has been confirmed previously by Vauxhall. is set to raise the bar for design, luxury, flexibility and innovation in the MPV sector.

Integration of the seven-seat Zafira in 1999 original at Flex7 seating will be applied to the Vauxhall Zafira Tourer.

The Vauxhall Zafira Tourer will also hold great driver appeal. A new chassis, using key components from the Insignia, with a longer wheelbase (complementing its 190mm increase in overall length) and wider tracks, will provide outstanding dynamics, while offering occupants more cabin space and ride comfort. Vauxhall’s acclaimed FlexRide adaptive damping system  a rarity in this class  will also be available as an option.

The Vauxhall Zafira Tourer’s diesel engine range will comprise three versions of Vauxhall’s Euro-5 compliant 2.0CDTi common rail unit, also found in the Insignia and Astra. Power outputs start with a choice of either 110PS or 130PS, while the most powerful engine has been upgraded to produce 165PS.

The Opel Zafira Tourer will make its world premiere at the 64th International Motor Show. Offering a perfect blend of functionality and wellness, the Opel Zafira Tourer brings Insignia premium quality values and innovative technologies as well as Opel’s design philosophy “sculptural artistry meets German precision”  to the monocab segment.

When it was launched 1999, the first generation Opel Zafira was not only the first seven-seater in its class. It also set new standards with fully integrated on-board flexibility. This means there is no need to remove and store heavy seats. Since 1999, Opel has sold more than 2.2 million units of two Zafira generations in Europe. Along with the Meriva, the European class leader in small monocabs, the Zafira has established Opel as the benchmark in flexibility and in the monocab segment.

2012 Opel Zafira Tourerwill be available with three versions of the 2.0 CDTI common-rail turbo diesel engine familiar from the Astra and Insignia. Outputs are 81 kW/110 hp and 96 kW/130 hp, while the unit topping the offer has been reworked to deliver 121 kW/165 hp. The gasoline range comprises two downsized, fuel-efficient 1.4 ECOTEC turbo-charged gasoline units, with 88 kW/120 hp and 103 kW/140 hp. Six-speed manual and automatic transmissions are available.

Opel’s new Start/Stop technology that brings further fuel savings, particularly in urban stop and go traffic, is offered with both the 1.4 Turbo gasoline and 2.0 CDTI powertrains.

2011 HONDA JAZZ EUROPEAN

Besides the Hybrid version, Honda also offers a European-spec Jazz gasoline engine. It is powered by either a 90HP 1.2-liter or 100HP 1.4-liter gasoline engine. The refreshed small car comes with redesigned bumpers said to reduce drag, new grille and headlights, rear lights with modified lenses and a choice of two new exterior colors  Deep Sapphire Blue and Ionized Bronze.

2011 Honda Jazz’s interior has a darker color scheme just like the hybrid, new seat fabrics (including the optional leather upholstery), chromed trim pieces and orange dash lighting. The “Magic Seats” system is part of the standard equipment list, while the boot features a secondary underfloor storage compartment, boosting the total load capacity to 399 liters or 19 liters more compared to the previous model.

The revised Jazz is once again available with a CVT automatic transmission complete with torque converter and paddle shifters, while engineers upgraded the suspension as well.

2011 HONDA JAZZ HYBRID EUROPEAN

European-spec Honda Jazz Hybrid comes in two choices of fuel, Jazz gasoline and hybrid. The Jazz Hybrid is said to be the first B-segment car fitted with a petrol-electric powertrain and it does it without compromising the cabin space and luggage compartment.

The Jazz Hybrid managed to retain the Jazz’s flexible “Magic Seats” configuration,  while offering a respectable 300-liter boot space that can be extended to a maximum of 1320 liters (measured to the roof), by mounting the battery pack under the boot floor.

Thanks to the “Magic Seats” system, the seats fold entirely flat, while their bases can be folded up in order to create more space for tall objects. The eco-friendly version comes with a reclining rear seat that can be tilted back as well, further increasing the cabin’s flexibility.

2011 Honda Jazz Hybrid’s interior is offer boasts a darker color theme, in contrast with the blue lighting of the instrument panel and center console. For the first time in Europe, the Jazz Hybrid can be also specified with leather upholstery.

2010 HONDA BRIO CONCEPT

2010 Honda BRIO Concept is being developed with Honda’s advanced technologies, while further advancing Honda’s “man maximum, machine minimum” concept. The new small-sized vehicle developed for Asian markets and scheduled to be introduced in Thailand and India in 2011

With this vehicle, Honda thoroughly pursued the creation of an advanced exterior form, which is compact while asserting a strong presence. Being developed as a commuter which is easy-to-use even in urban areas, the Honda BRIO prototype adopts an easy-to-handle compact body (length 3,610mm x width 1,680mm x height 1,475 mm) while ensuring enough cabin space achieved by highly efficient packaging.

Moreover, with this vehicle, Honda will leverage the resources Honda has cultivated through its motorcycle business and utilize local sourcing of parts and materials such as sheet steel. Honda will develop unique versions for Thailand and India to reflect different customer needs in those markets.

2011 NISSAN LEAF – COTY

Good news, the jury of the 2011 European Car of the Year Award (COTY) announced that the Nissan Leaf is the winner, earning a total of 257 points. This is the first time in the 47-year history of the competition that the award goes to an electric vehicle.

2011 Nissan Leaf is a plug-in EV, it powered by 80 kW (107 hp) AC electric motor that’s fed by a Nissan-developed laminated lithium-ion battery. The EV accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 11.9 seconds and it has a driving range of 175 km (109 mph.)

This award recognizes the pioneering zero-emission Nissan LEAF as competitive to conventional cars in terms of safety, performance, spaciousness and handling. It also reflects Nissan’s standing as an innovative and exciting brand with a clear vision of the future of transportation, which called sustainable mobility. With three other electric vehicles in the pipeline from Nissan  and with the imminent market introduction of four additional electric vehicles from our Alliance partner Renault. Nissan LEAF represents a significant first step toward a zero-emission future.
