2011 CHEVROLET VOLT MPV 5 CONCEPT

Dave Barthmuss, told Brad Berman from Plugincars that the company may surprise us at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show with a new model, hinting at a plug-in hybrid crossover. That has announced at a recent event called “Charged 2011  EV Symposium Silicon Valley”.  Chevrolet has already shown a similar concept with the Chevrolet Volt MPV5 Concept, so it is quite possible that the car we will see it the production version of the study.

According the general news, the Chevrolet Volt MPV5 Concept uses a 152 PS (150 HP) electric motor that is charged by a 16 kWh lithium-ion battery, along with a 1.4-liter gasoline unit. The combustion engine’s purpose is to act purely as a generator, extending the hybrid’s range from a stingy 51.5 km (32 miles) on battery power alone to up to 482 km (300 miles).

However, Barthmuss did not rule out the possibility of an EV in the near future, powered either by a modified version of the Volt’s powertrain without the range extender, or an entirely new system.

2011 AUDI A1 TDI

Audi Automaker launches the new Audi A1 TDI 1.6 with increased fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions has been introduced into the British market.

The Ingolstadt firm’s engineers optimized the 1.6-liter turbo diesel’s fuel system and engine management software on the new Audi A1 TDI, and as a result, reduced CO2 output from 105g/km to 99g/km, and boosted its combined economy figure from 70.6mpg UK to 74.3mpg UK (equal to 3.8 lt/100 km and 61.9mpg US).

The new Audi A1 TDI 1.6 also get standard feature to all three trim levels include alloy wheels, remote central locking, air conditioning, electric front windows and mirrors and a six-speaker single CD audio system with auxiliary iPod connection linked to a 6.5-inch retractable display.

2010 LOTUS CITY CAR CONCEPT + 2025 SAAB SPORT SEDAN CONCEPT

2010 LOTUS CITY CAR CONCEPT

The company’s CEO said the Lotus City Car Concept will be manufactured in cooperation with Lotus parent company Proton and an undisclosed third party. And its has been confirmed and will be launched in October 2013.

The Lotus City Car will be built in three versions: one for the Asian market, one for Europe and a sportier one. The Lotus flavored Concept City Car is based on one of the three Giugiaro-penned Proton EMAS design studies, which were first shown in Geneva earlier this year.

Design in-house by Italdesign Giugiaro, powered by the EV concept model features a 45 kW (75kW peak power) electric motor that can be recharged by a 1.2 liter 3-cylinder engine. The hybrid plug-in drive system was developed entirely by Lotus.

The City Car concept is said to complete the 0 – 50 km/h sprint in 4.5 seconds and the 0 – 100 km/h [62 mph] in 9 seconds, when operating as an EV under battery power. The top speed is pegged at 170 km/h, [105mph] with a charge sustaining top speed of 120 km/h [63 mph].

The pure electric drive range is 50 km or 31 miles, but can be extended to a total of 500 km or 311 miles when the petrol engine kicks. Lotus claims that the drivetrain returns CO2 emissions of 60 g/km.

2025 SAAB SPORT SEDAN CONCEPT

Youngho Jong is a Korean design student, he taken Saab to looking towards future as sport sedan for 2025 Advanced Warning System Vehicle concept: a rakish, four-door saloon with coupe-like styling. And no headroom, by the looks of it, but that’s a forgivable oversight. More interesting to us, however, is how he used his knowledge of nature and human psychology to come up with a vehicle that isn’t just smart, it’s downright sinister.

With his research showing that 50% of vehicles accidents are caused by carelessness, excessive speed and tailgating, Jong wanted to create a car that would warn other drivers to back off and drive with care.

There are following the 2025 concept, slits open up in its rear panels revealing amber hazard lights, patches of the car’s skin also darken. The same amber slips are found on the front and sides of the vehicle. Jong took his inspiration from nature’s Fire Salamander, which uses its bright, menacing colours to ward off potential predators.

Jong also mentions that the Saab Sport Sedan Concept Study’s skin is constructed of a soft, impact absorbing material that reduces pedestrian injuries and vehicle damage in collisions. He incorporate sharp edges and the colours red and yellow to further emphasises the possible danger.

2010 NOVITEC ROSSO FERRARI CALIFORNIA SUPERCHARGED

Novitec Rosso had made extensive upgrades on the Ferrari California from the exterior, to the interior, and to the engines. Novitec Rosso had given the Ferrari California and edge in terms of appearance by making it sportier. This was made possible by a supercharger engine tuner.

It has a 4.3 liter engine with four valves. This 8 cylinder model is equipped with a mechanical charger as well. The exhaust system of this car is improved using Novitec Rosso’s stainless steel exhaust outlet. Then, a manettino, located at the steering wheel, can be used to control the exhaust system. The car’s acceleration is also something that Novitec Rosso takes pride in. From a full stop, the car can go to a hundred kilometers per hour in less than 3.8 seconds. Then, it can go to a top speed of 325 kilometers per hour.


2011 CHEVROLET VOLT

2011 Chevrolet Volt will have a “mountain mode” as a standard feature. The new feature will come in addition to the normal and sport mode. The new mode will allow Volt drivers to set a larger reserve capacity in the battery in terrain that would require the vehicle to use extra power.

The 2011 Chevrolet Volt is powered by 16-kWh, “T”-shaped lithium-ion battery that powers the electric drive unit, which allows it to drive 40 miles on battery power alone.

The system puts out 150-hp and a maximum torque of 273 lb-ft, allowing the Volt to go from 0-60 mph in about 9 seconds, hitting a top speed of 100 mph. The battery can be re-charged by plugging into a household outlet and takes less than 3 hours to recharge on 240 volts, and about 8 hours on a standard 120-volt outlet. The Chevrolet Volt also carries a 1.4 4-clyinder engine that allows the five-door, FWD sedan to travel additional miles while averaging a fuel-economy of 50 mpg. A fully charged battery and full tank of gas will allow the Volt to travel 300 miles.

2011 ASTON MARTIN GAUNTLET

Aston Martin Gauntlet build upon the basic design done by Ugur Sahin Design to update Aston’s lineup with a study design. The intent was to design a car which is technically almost identical to the existing production Aston Martins while defining a design character that outmost respects the impressive history of the brand and combine the timeless lines of the past Aston Martins with the modern interpretation of the existing styling.

Ugur Sahin note design with the design of nuance to be too retro or futuristic, the look comes off as clean and really appealing to the eye. Key features include Those sexy, organic headlights, a new take on Aston’s wide-mouth grill and claimed to be cribbed from the DB3S

Some design changes and realized in this car is brake-heat extractor vents, lines flowing into the tail spoiler, mirrors emulating the sharp shape of the window surrounds, rear windscreen that’s been molded to flow with the roof’s lines and creased line down the side which makes the car look like it’s wearing an opera mask.

2011 CHEVROLET VOLT

By now, most people have heard of the Chevrolet Volt, General Motors’ innovative new car that runs on gasoline or battery power. GM plans to launch the Volt as a 2011 model.

Though many people think of the Chevy Volt as a plug-in hybrid, GM refers to it as an extended-range electric vehicle. What’s the difference? Unlike typical hybrids, the Volt’s gasoline engine doesn’t connect directly to the wheels, an electric motor and a battery do all the work. The 1.4 liter gasoline engine is there to keep the battery juiced up when there’s no electric outlet handy.

The Volt has a 40-mile battery range; since the average American drives 33 miles a day, most Volt owners will do the bulk of their driving on battery power. The presence of the gas engine means the Volt isn’t tethered to its extension cord.
