Kia World has scored the first official photos of the 2010 Kia Sorento, and from the looks of things, it’s in keeping with the other marked improvements the automaker has been making to its lineup.
In fairness, the current Sorento is no ugly duckling, with a shape that’s evocative of the Jeep WJ Grand Cherokee and last-gen Lexus RX. Kia retains a traditional SUV profile with the latest version, but you can see that a thick D-pillar now resides aft of the side glass. New larger Sorento will have seven-passenger capability.

The new Sorento doesn’t appear to mess with success, retaining the same basic shape while incorporating Kia’s new, handsome corporate face and a clamshell hood. Its public debut is slated for the Seoul Motor Show next month, and Kia World reports that the the new SUV will be available with a Euro 5-compliant 2.0-liter clean diesel making 200 horsepower and 295-lb-ft of torque. Stateside, expect a 170-horsepower 2.4-liter four and and a 3.8-liter, 260-horse Lambda V6. Koreans also get a 2.7-liter LPG-powered engine. After its Seoul debut, we’d expect to see the Sorento pop up in Manhattan for the New York Auto Show.
It seems like we have been waiting for ages to see the 2010 Kia Sorento breaking the cover. After seeing a countless number of spy photos and prototypes in various testing stages, the wait is finally over and we can exclusively show you the new face of the next generation Sorento crossover!
Codenamed XM, the 2010 Sorento is scheduled to make it’s official debut at the Seoul Auto Show in April and that will be the place where Kia Motors will reveal more precise details on it’s powertrain options, equipment and accessories.
Not willing to wait additional three weeks to get to know more about the new Sorento, I gathered some additional information from various Kia sources worldwide.
Redesigned Sorento will become the first Hyundai-Kia vehicle in the family to come equipped with the all-new environmentally-friendly R-diesel engine. The 2.2L diesel engine boasts best-in-class 200 horsepower and best fuel economy performance of 14.1km/l making it the most fuel-efficient crossover in the Korean market. The new state-of-the-art diesel engine also satisfies EURO5 emission standards.
The engine range will also include a four-cylinder 2.4L and a 3.8L V6. Both are destined for the International markets, including US and Europe. On it’s domestic market, new Sorento will also be available with a 2.7L LPI engine. Standard powertrain package also includes a 6-speed automatic transmission developed with proprietary technology.
Size-wise, the 2010 Sorento has grown in size and now measures 4.685 mm (+95mm) in length, 1.885 in width (+35mm) and 1.710 in height (-15mm). It’s wheelbase has been shortened by 5mm to 2.700mm in dimension.

Bro aper2 spec untuk kete Kia baru memang mengancam mcm Kia Forte 1.6 124ps/156nm tapi sprint tetap kalah ngan Sentra 1.6 yang hanya 110ps/148nm,Minyak tak payah cerita indah khabar dari rupa.Member yang pakai Forte skrg dah mula komplen nak dapat 11km/L pun payah..Cuma gua suka diorang ni bold,daring kuarkan konsep design mcm ni sebagai alternative.Tapi top speed mengancam beb..

Korean models like Kia & Hyundai mmg semakin berkualiti dan design mmg mengancam. Kat US n Europe ranking Hyundai n Kia dah pintas Toyota, Honda n Nissan. Tp org malaysia masih dgn mentaliti lama…susah nak terima Korean cars. They r catching up fast n can compete head to head anytime dgn japanese top models. Zaman dah berubah…Koreans kan mmg lama dah dendam dgn japanese. I hv owned my hyundai matrix 1.8 since 2002 (CBU) n still driving it w/o a hitch. Tu model 2002…mmg minyak agak lebih ckit tp overall condition still xcellent. To say the least, sebiji mentol lampu pun x terbakar lg so far after 8 years of wear n tear….i rest my case. U guyz be da judge.

Aku ada beberapa kawan yang dah beli model kia, oklah part of price mampu beli, tapi part of sparepart( alat ganti) wow punya lah susah nak cari, ada yang tak jalan langsung sampai 6-10 bulan tunggu sparepart. Dah lah sparepart dia mahal, terutama sekali kat sarawak, jadi aku pun fikir2 gak nak beli kia ni, cantik memang cantik.

Lagi pun sorento 2.5L dan Chevrolet 2.0L dan kedua duanya Diesel. Selagi stok lama serento tak dapat dijual habis (lebih kurang 10 unit terakhir dengan harga 113k) , Naza tak akan lancarkan model baru kat Malaysia. Kalau Show room kat Singapore boleh lah dapat tengok.

Tahniah Sorento SUV…dengan model baru nampak anggun dan matap…Tetapi jangan asyik mati engine aje macam model saya beli tahun 2007 membahaya jika memotong dan mendaki bukit..! Hanya maut je belum temui nak jual tak ada harga …Foreman KIA pun tak tahu sebabnya…

klu mati engine bila nak accelerate tu sebabnya fuel filter. Kalau minyak tak bersih, enjin tak nak terima and trus cut fuel intake (auto filter), matilah engine… nak betulkan, 1- tukar stesyen minyak (mungkin minyaknya tak bersih kut..) 2- tukar / service fuel pump filter tu. (mungkin auto filter dah tak betul).
Saya pun pakai model 2007, dah tukar fuel filter/pump, no problem. klu kna penyakit ni, 80km ke atas engine will reject the fuel.
