Basically, people rent a car to travel especially if they are a tourist. Some of us rent a car just for special occasion like for just married couple etc. And some of us who didnt have a car, hire a car sometimes when they need it only. There are a lot of car rental companies in Malaysia. Usually, they only allowed person with the minimum age of 23 to maximum of 60 years old to rent a car.
If you have a credit card, it is so easy to rent a car anywhere in the world including Malaysia. Majority of car rental company accept credit card payment and you don’t have to give big amount of deposit to the car owner or car rental service provider.
Some of them needs deposit of one day rent, minimum few days of car rental and certain requirement. Just find which one gives the easiest and convenient way to get the rental car. Few of the car rental company also provide a driver for your trip with the charges around RM100-150 per day. For those who are searching for budget car rental, don’t take rental car at tourist spot like KLIA airports or bus stand. You can search for Malaysia directory like yellow pages.
So this article is just a short and simple guide for you about the standard terms and the range of vehicle with the probably cheapest rental charges offered. The price varried with each rental service company depends on the area and the condition of the car. To find the car rental company, please refer to the proper yellow pages.
In Malaysia, it is quite hard to find motorbike for rent (sewa motor). Mostly provide car for hire.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Condition Of Hire
These Conditions shall apply to the hire of the vehicle described overleaf (the Vehicle) from the owner of the Vehicle named overleaf (the Owner).
2. Commencement of hire
a. The rental car was in good working order and condition;
b. The vehicle had a full tank of petrol;
c. All fitting accessories tools and spare tyre are complete.
3. Return of Vehicle
The hirer shall return the rental car (kereta sewa) in the same order and condition as at the commencement of the hire and with all fitting, accessories, tool, and spare tyre intact at or before the time and date specified overleaf.
4. Insurance Restrictions
The Vehicle will be insured under a policy taken out by the Owner (‘the Policy’) and the terms of the insurance coverage are available for inspections by the Hirer at the Owner’s office where the Vehicle is hired. It is the Hirer’s responsibility to read the terms and conditions of the insurance.
The Hirer shall ensure that the rental motorcycle (motor sewa) or car is not operated in any manner which will expose it to any risk not covered by insurance, including (BUT NOT LIMITED TO) the Restrictions on use referred to in Condition 7.
The Hirer shall ensure that the Vehicle shall not be used and Hirer is expressly prohibited from using the vehicle for Racing pace – making reliability trial or speed testing Towing and trailer or vehicle of any type

Driving whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs, Any illegal or immoral purpose
5. Territorial limits
The vehicle shall not be brought outside Peninsular Malaysia without prior arrangement with the Car Owner. The car Hirer will be responsible for all consequences if this is not complied with.
6. Damage & Other rental or hire Charges or fee
The Hirer shall be solely responsible first RM 2,000 of any loss or damage to the Vehicle shall be responsible for any further loss damage to the extent to which the Owner’s insurers agree to compensate the owner the Policy. Save as aforesaid any others loss suffered by the Owner (including loss resulting from inability to us prior or let the Vehicle on hire) in consequence of the destruction loss or theft or damage to the Vehicle prior to the Vehicle being returned to the Owner.
7. Personal Accident Insurance
Where the Hirer has indicated overleaf that he / she intends to purchase the Personal Accident insurance (PAI) package, a proposal for personal accident coverage of up to RM60,000 for the driver and up to RM 40,000 for a minimum of 4 passenger collectively and medical expenses coverage of RM1,000 for the driver and RM2,000 for a maximum 4 passenger collectively shall be submitted on behalf of the Hirer to insurers.
8. Accident
In the event of any accident involving the Vehicle the Hirer shall safeguard the Owner and its insurers under the Policy by
Obtaining the names and address of parties involved and witness;
Reporting any accident to the Owner immediately and to the police (to make a police report) or other proper authority WITHIN 24 HOURS.
