Jenis Muffler S Flow & Straight Flow : Perbezaan, Kebaikan dan Keburukan

Jenis muffler

Muffler adalah satu alat yang digunakan untuk mengurang kan bunyi ekzos kereta.Ia diletakkan biasanya pada hujung paip ekzos di belakang kereta.

Secara am nya terdapat 2 jenis muffler yang digunakan pasa kereta iaitu Muffler Straight Flow dan Muffler S- flow.Tetapi jenis muffler yang digunakan pada kereta biasa yg baru adalah jenis s-flow.Ini adalah muffler jenis ini sesuai untuk penngunaan harian bagi pengguna biasa.

Saya akan menerangkan kebaikan dan keburukan kedua2 jenis muffler.

KEBAIKAN

-sangat senyap

-point kuasa kereta berada di rpm rendah dan tengah oleh itu sesuai untuk penggunaan harian

KEBURUKAN

-menghalang pergerakan angin yang lancar kerana pergerakan angin yang berpusing dalam muffler

-menghasilkan back pressure kepade engine lalu mennganggu aliran angin

-kurang kuasa di rpm tinggi

Kebaikan

-aliran angin yang lebih baik kerana angin hanya melalui muffler tanpa berpusing

-point kuasa berada di rpm tinggi oleh itu sesuai untuk digunakan di track

-engine yang lebih responsif dan lebih pick-up

Keburukan

-Bising berbanding S-Flow

-menaikkan fuel consumption

-kurang kuasa di rpm rendah

Tetapi keburukan Straight muffler dapat diatasi dengan menggunakan silencer.

Silencer boleh di lekatkan dan dicabutkan pada bila2 masa kerana hanya diikat di hujung muffler dengan bolt dan nut.

Dengan penggunaan silencer, fuel consumption dapat dikurangkan sedikit dan bunyi bising dapat dikurangkan dengan banyak.Tambahan lagi kuasa di rpm rendah akan meningkat sedikit.

    utk kereta auto, s-flow lebih sesuai, kerana kereta auto memerlukan sedikit backpressure utk bfungsi dgn baik, kalau 1jz tu standard kg, 2.5″ all the way lpas tu satu s-flow muffler dah cukup, setup ni agak senyap n sesuai utk city driving

    satu lg option pakai 2.5″ piping + 2.5″ straight flow bullet + 2.5″ straight flow muffler, kalo setup ni top end kuat sikit tp low end x kuat, so utk city driving kuat sketla minyak ngan bising sket bunyi

    exhaust manifold atau name lain die extractor, fungsi die nk combine sume exaust gas dari cylinder ke pipe exhaust..kalo 4-2-1 power range die dkat low-mid rpm, maknenye torque bagus, sesuai utk daily drive, kalo 4-1 power range kat high rpm, sesuai utk keta drag atau track,

    4-2-1 x naik, biasanya keta standard 4-2-1, kalo pasang
    manifold yg lebih cantik atau smooth, powr akan meningkat dan fc pon akan reduce sket,

    yang tu name die catalytic converter, atau kdg2 org panggil catalyzer je,
    fungsi die bukan utk serap bunyi, tpi utk filter2 gas beracun, bende tu sebenarnye reduce performance keta, tpi perlu utk undang2 certain negara,
    kalo sayang environment jgnla cabut, walaupun ket aku dah tade :)
    arge mahal la kot, sebab pakai platinum

    kalau soalan terlalu specific saya pon xleh jawab, tpi saya just boleh bagi cadangan.
    bahador: nak modofied kereta ni terpulang kepada citarasa masing2, so saya xleh tolong, cuma biasenya org akan tuka open pod utk filter,tuka ram pipe filter, dan tuka muffler and piping exhaust, tu basic mods
    Gman: saya x npk cara nk buat bunyi ala2 ferrari sebab tu semua dtg dari engine, bukan exhaust semata2 and kalau spectra saya tade idea.
    maybe tuka kepada muffler s-flow aftermarket yg kurang restriction sket

    air filter tak main peranan dlm exhaust, tapi org biase combine skali,
    intake and exhaust, first mod yg org biase buat intake dulu aka filter etc.
    kalau tuka filter tu ade sket lain bunyi die, tpi x kuat sgt, dgr sikiit2 je mcm angin kena sedut bila tekan minyak kuat2,
    tp ldg2 tade beza bunyi pon, tpi respon keta sedap sket la
    kalo bunyi mcm nos tu sy pon x geti nk jwb sbb mcm2 jnis bunyi ade,
    ade bunyi turbo berpusing, mcm bunyi engine kpl terbang bru start engine,
    ade bunyi yg pishh / kachinggg..dua2 ni keta turbo je ade

    Saya pakai Perdana V6 auto. Apakah setup terbaik utk exhaust keta saya. Saya tak mau top end speed, hanya mahu kan kereta lebih pick up & kuasa memotong.

    Bro, I have a fren who is using a ‘uncang banana’ manifold to his GSR. To him it gives more power. Is this useful for a NA car say Wira 4G62? Thank you and I find you’re really helpful.

    im not quite sure by the term ‘uncang banana’ but i assume that it is the same thing as banana manifold or extractor.
    if it is, it wont be suitable for NA engine,
    the manifold is shaped like a banana because the turbine need to be mounted on the extractor, thats why all 4 pipes from each of the cylinder will combine into one pipe (which look like banana) where the turbine is mounted.
    as for NA car the option would be to use a 4-1 extractor or 4-2-1 extractor, meaning from 4 pipes from each cylinder to 2 pipe and then 1 pipe, or from 4 pipe directly to 1 pipe for 4-1 config. the 4-1 will give power at higher rpm ( suitable for track driving) and the 4-2-1 will give better power at mid range rpm (suitable for daily use)

    bro, nk tnya sket.. spt sedia maklum,aku pkai gen2 manual 1.6. boleh dikatakan 80% kete aku digunakan utk daily driving..jalan2 ngn family n balik kg (Sitiawan).. hehe.. and another 20% suka2 main drag ngn member2 seangkatan (tempat dirahsiakan..:) ).. so skrg setup extractor 4-2-1, bullet brand FGK (oval sket) n muffler straight flow (jenis oval).. nk kata bunyi bising tu boleh dikatakan ok lah..xde la terlalu perit sgt.. cm bunyi ‘bass’ la kot..sedap gk, anak aku lena gk la dlm kete tu..

    Cuma nk tnya pendapat bro je sket ni, aku ada stok muffler s-flow type yg xpakai. klu aku tukar pkai muffler s-flow tu dr jenis straight flow skrg ni, adakah lagi best dari segi daily n hiway driving dan termasuk skali ngan performance masa main2 drag tu..minta pandangan bro yer..tq

    Saya pakai kereta wira 4g91 auto..
    Sistem ekzos saya ialah
    extractor 1.8″ 4-2-1
    paiping 1.8″ (ikut longkang standard)
    tabung bullet tgh.
    S flow muffler kat belakang..

    Persoalannya ialah, adakah ini sistem ekzos yg paling optimum utk 4g91 auto?
    ada tips yg lebih baik untuk sistem ekzoz 4g91 tak?

    Ekzos auto>
    Seelok2nya pakai muffler S-Flow SAHAJA!! – ini adalah kerana sistem gear auto yang memerlukan back preasure dari ekzos..
    Lebih banyak bullet, lebih pick up, dan lebih back preasure, namun mungkin top berkurangan seperti dari leh naik 190km/h, cume leh dapat 180km/h..
    Jgn pakai bullet swirl type! menghilangkan back preasure..
    Kalau nak ekzos S flow yg bising bile tarik, pakai muffler dgn tip dia yg mempunyai lubang yg besar spt 3inci ke atas..

    Ekzos manual>
    Pakai S flow boleh, pakai straight flow pun boleh- tapi lebih power kalau pakai straight flow namun bunyi memang Vroom!!!
    Center bullet pakai satu pun dah cukup, jangan pakai swirl type, sbb angin yg terlalu lawas boleh memberi masalah jerking pd pertukaran gear..

    Auto & Manual>
    Pakai extractor 4-2-1 untuk 50-50 pick up dan top.. (jalan2 town)
    Pakai extractor 4-1 untuk hi ram pick up.. (drag race)
    Jenis paip seelok2nya stainless steel sebab tak karat, tak mudah bocor dan flow dalamnye lebih lancar..
    Jenis center bullet dan muffler( s-flow/straight flow) kalau boleh amik yang mahal dan berjenama, memang berbeza performance nye dgn cap kaki ayam..
    Seelok2nye paip ikut lar longkang asal dimana flow nye adalah yg optimum utk pick up dan top..

    p/s: Information di atas adalah berdasarkan pengalaman sendiri, rakan2, jiran2 dan nasihat 5 tokey kedai ekzos.. seandainya ia adalah bertentangan dgn knowledge anda, sila beritahu dan boleh kita berkongsi pendapat..

    tabung dengan nanas tu lain, nanas yg flexible tu, tabung biase keras (bentuk mcm muffler)
    kalau nk buat exhaust system ni kena tgk jgak engine ape, auto ke manual, sbab lain enjin lain setting die
    tapi biasenye kalau tuka tabung dgn ekzos yg lg elok mmg boleh tamabahkan power kereta

    Nenas berfungsi untuk menjaga extractor dgn piping.. Dia flexible, kalau takde nenas, gegaran enjin boleh memberi risiko kepatahan dan kebocoran pada piping ekzos, extractor atau pada batang bolt extractor..Kalau tak patah, boleh bengkok.. walaupun risiko nye cume 5%-10% namun andai kata ade area yg karat, area tu boleh patah dan bocor dengan risiko hingga 75%.. renung2kan sebelum buang nenas anda…

    untuk pengetahuan, material2 piping macam stainless steel, titanium, steel putih atau carbon steel ni semua ade efect dia..

    first skali, kepanasan, piping ekzos yg sgt panas boleh menyebabkan komponen2 bawah kereta mudah rosak, contoh mcm ABS komponen, wire2 yg lalu bawah body, tube2 yg berkenaan dan sebagainya.. Panas pada piping ekzos dtg dari enjin dan outlet gas dia.. so material yg dipilih bukan yg tahan panas, tapi sepanas2 mana pun keadaan, dia tak mempunyai suhu yg tinggi dan tak simpan suhu yg tinggi..
    Material mana yg tak mempunyai suhu yg tinggi ni aku tak pasti, tak ingat dah samada carbon steel atau titanium..

    second, flow gas outlet atau flow asap ekzos… Kita semua tahu besi ade mcm2 rasa kalau rasa dgn jari, licin, kasar, sederhana.. bile kasar, flow jadi kurang baik, bila licin flow jadi laju.. tapi efek pada performance cume dalam 2% shj..

    Third, Mendapan karbon.. Kalau kita pakai ekzos standard, lepas 5 tahun lebih kurang, saiz dalam paip yg asal dalam 1.5 inci, cuma jadi 1.3 inci sahaja kerana mendapan karbon yg menyebabkan performance kereta drop… Sebab tu org kata, kalau jaga maintenance camne pun, kereta macam tak sehebat beli dulu… So, kalau pilih material yg baik, kebarangkalian karbon yg datang dari combustion chamber susah nak melekat kat piping kereta terutamanya extractor, tabung, paip dgn muffler…

    Forth, Kekaratan.. Punca utama kebocoran ekzos dan kepatahan ekzos adalah KARAT.. kalau pakai besi biasa, taknak karat memang susah, sebab karat berpunca dengan kehadiran lembapan air dan oksigen.. bile karat, flow dah tak lancar sbb kasar, bile kasar, mendapan karbon sgt tinggi, mudah patah dan bocor..

    Fifth, Bending moment.. Longkang asal ekzos takde yg straigt semata2.. semua kena bengkok2 gak, kat bengkok tu yg penting, sesetengah material bile bengkok boleh menyebabkan kedutan, ini mmg tak baik sebab flow takkan secantik dan selancar mana..

    Sixth, Cantik atau tak cantik.. Material yg berlainan menentukan cantik tak bile tgk, ade yg macam besi biasa, ada yg kilat berkilat.. tu jer..

    p/s: aku rasa ade banyak lagi ni… tak larat nak taip…

So apa size pping yg sesuai dgn kadar CC enjin kete ‘interm of power’….xyah kira sgt soal fuel consumption, sbb nak power myk mesti lebih kan…:D

    Saranan utk power kereta yg optimum ialah, minyak tak laju, tapi kereta laju.. untuk dapat demikian, paip ekzos tak boleh terlalu besar, kalau terlalu besar, ade lack yg sangat banyak.. susah nak terangkan concept thermodynamic dgn internal combustion ni.. untuk kereta N/A, cc 1.8, 1.6, dan 1.5 sesuai dengan piping 1.8″ sahaja.. pastikan 1.8″ ni adalah diameter dalam paip, bukan luar..

    Tapi kalau anda pelumba drag, suka tarik hi RPM untuk pick up kaw2, taknak top.. leh ar try pakai 2″, tapi minyak pun kaw ar..

    Untuk Performance car mcm Vtec, VVTi, CPS atau Mivec, dia adalah intelligence cam.. diamana, kalau bawak biasa, performance cam kete standard, tapi kala bwk laju nak tarik2 mmg umpama combustion yg sgt besar macam turbo.. so, saiz yg paling sesuai kalau nak bwk biasa dgn tarik2, pakai paip 1.8″ atau 2″ memang cun dah, tapi kalau pakai 2″ kena jaga area bullet dgn muffler sebab taknak lack masa bawak biasa…

    Untuk pengetahuan semua, Paip 2″ ke atas hanya sesuai dgn kereta TURBO CAS dgn SUPER CAS SAHAJA…. sebab, preasure yg sangat tinggi dalam combustion dan memerlukan ruang keluar gas ekzos dgn sgt cepat..

    Paip ekzos memang menentukan performance kereta, kalau nak tahu, 50% performance kereta bergantung pada sistem ekzos.. dan 20% daripadanya bergantung pada size paip… samada nak pick up, top atau kedua2 nya… malah, kalau di buat dgn cun.. minyak boleh jimat macam kereta standard, tapi pergi macam kereta modified…

    Semua ni susah nak dibuktikan dgn kata2, hanya ujian DYNO sahaja yg boleh membuktikan setiap fakta setting ekzos..

    Turbo 2.0 ke atas mungkin elok pakai 2.5″ ke atas, tapi untuk Normal turbo GSR 1.8, 2.0″ – 2.5″ pun okey…

    Salam semua, sy pakai gen2 1.6 (manual). sy br je tukar extractor 4-2-1, tabung tengah dan trumpet mufler(straight flow) 3 bulan lepas. masalah yg saya ada sekarang ni yelah kereta rasa mcm berat and sebu compare dengan masa memula tukar dulu…. adakah kerana penggunaan trumpet instead of s-flow boleh jadi punca?

    Utk bro halim, yes, kemungkinan utk sebu dari trumpet tu mmg besar.. tapi kalau taknak tukar s-flow, nak stay dgn trumpet tu, boleh try beberapa langkah.. first, try bukak kotak angin, tukar K&N atau filter HKS.. so, inlet masuk sama laju seperti gas outlet keluar.. second, tabung tgh tu tak tahu jenis pe, bullet, box, swirl.. try check on that..

    p/s: tahukah anda bahawa bile anda tukar ekzos, ade proses welding yg mengunakan welding CO2, dimana menggunakan connection electric dan gas CO2,, Bila proses welding ni dibuat, tune ECU kereta akan lari sedikit, sebab ade gangguan electric akibat dari welding tersebut.. so, ECU tersebut perlu direset semula, samada tune guna computer, atau cabut connection batery kereta selama beberapa minit dan pasang semula.. (kalau salah, tolong tunjuk ajar)

    Understanding Exhaust:

    The How & Why
    No exhaust system is ideal for all applications. Depending on their design and purpose, all exhaust systems compromise something to achieve something else. Before performing exhaust changes or modifications to increase performance, it is critical to determine what kind of performance you want. * Do you want the best possible low-end and mid-range power or maximum top-end power? * Will you be using an aftermarket cam with different lift, duration, timing and overlap? * Have you investigated the relationship between torque (force) and horsepower (amount of work within time)? * Do you want a cosmetic exhaust system or a performance exhaust system?
    Without careful thought about these variables, an exhaust system can yield very disappointing results. On the other hand, a properly designed and tuned exhaust system that is well-matched to the engine can provide outstanding power gains.
    The distinction between “maximum power” and “maximum performance” is significant beyond general discussion. Realistically, one exhaust system may not produce both maximum power and maximum performance. For a motorcycle to cover “X” distance as quickly as possible, it is not the highest peak power generated by the engine that is most critical. It is the highest average power generated across the distance that typically produces the quickest time. When comparing two horsepower curves on a dynamometer chart (assuming other factors remain constant), the curve containing the greatest average power is the one that will typically cover the distance in the least time and that curve may, or may not, contain the highest possible peak power.
    In the strictest technical sense, an exhaust system cannot produce more power on its own. The potential power of an engine is determined by the proper amount of fuel available for combustion. However, the efficiency of combustion and engine pumping processes is profoundly influenced by the exhaust system. A properly designed exhaust system can reduce engine pumping losses. Therefore, the design objective for a high performance exhaust is (or should be) to reduce engine-pumping losses, and by so doing, increase volumetric efficiency. The net result of reduced pumping losses is more power available to move the motorcycle. As volumetric efficiency increases, potential fuel mileage also increases because less throttle opening is required to move the motorcycle at the same velocity.
    Much controversy (and apparent confusion) surrounds the issue of exhaust “back-pressure”. Many performance-minded people who are otherwise knowledgeable still cling tenaciously to the old school concept…. “You need more back-pressure for better performance.”
    For virtually all high performance purposes, backpressure in an exhaust system increases
    engine-pumping losses and decreases available engine power. It is true that some engines are mechanically tuned to “X” amount of backpressure and can show a loss of low-end torque when that backpressure is reduced. It is also true that the same engine that lost low-end torque with reduced back-pressure can be mechanically re-tuned to show an increase of low-end torque with the same reduction of back-pressure. More importantly, maximum mid-to-high RPM power will be achieved with the lowest possible backpressure. Period!
    The objective of most engine modifications is to maximize the proper air and fuel flow into, and exhaust flow out of the engine. The inflow of an air/fuel mixture is a separate issue, but it is directly influenced by exhaust flow, particularly during valve overlap (when both valves are open for “X” degrees of crankshaft rotation). Gasoline requires oxygen to burn. By volume, dry, ambient air at sea level contains about 21% oxygen, 78% Nitrogen and trace amounts of Argon, CO2 and other gases. Since oxygen is only about 1/5 of air’s volume, an engine must intake 5 times more air than oxygen to get the oxygen it needs to support the combustion of fuel. If we introduce an oxygen-bearing additive such as nitrous oxide, or use an oxygen-bearing fuel such as nitromethane, we can make much more power from the same displacement because both additives bring more oxygen to the combustion chamber to support the combustion of more fuel. If we add a supercharger or turbocharger, we get more power for the same reason…. more oxygen is forced into the combustion chamber. Theoretically, in a normally aspirated state of tune without fuel or oxygen-rich additives, an engine’s maximum power potential is directly proportional with the volume of air it flows. This means that an engine of 80 cubic inches has the same maximum power potential as an engine of 100 cubic inches, if they both flow the same volume of air. In this example, the powerband characteristics of the two engines will be quite different but the peak attainable power is essentially the same.
    Flow Volume & Flow Velocity One of the biggest issues with exhaust systems, is the relationship between gas flow volume and gas flow velocity (which also applies to the intake track). An engine needs the highest flow velocity possible for quick throttle response and torque throughout the low-to-mid range portion of the power band. The same engine also needs the highest flow volume possible throughout the mid-to-high range portion of the powerband for maximum performance. This is where a fundamental conflict arises. For “X” amount of exhaust pressure at an exhaust valve, a smaller diameter exhaust pipe will provide higher flow velocity than a larger diameter pipe. Unfortunately, the laws of physics will not allow that same small diameter pipe to flow sufficient volume to realize maximum possible power at higher RPM. If we install a larger diameter pipe, we will have enough flow volume for maximum power at mid-to-high RPM, but the flow velocity will decrease and low-to-mid range throttle response and torque will suffer. This is the primary paradox of exhaust flow dynamics and the solution is usually a design compromise that produces an acceptable amount of throttle response, torque and horsepower across the entire powerband.
    A very common mistake made by some performance people is the selection of an exhaust
    system with pipes that are too large in diameter for their engine’s state of tune. Bigger is not necessarily better and is often worse. Equal Length Exhaust
    The effectiveness of equal length exhaust is widely debated. Assuming that an exhaust system is otherwise properly designed, equal length pipes offer some benefits that are not present with unequal length pipes. These benefits are smoother engine operation, tuning simplicity and increased low-to-mid range torque.
    If the pipes are not equal length, both inertial scavenging and wave scavenging will vary among engine cylinders, often dramatically. This, in turn, causes different tuning requirements for different cylinders. These variations affect air/fuel mixtures and timing requirements, and can make it very difficult to achieve optimal tuning. Equal length pipes eliminate these exhaust-induced difficulties. “Tuning”, in the context used here, does not mean installing new sparkplugs and an air filter. It means configuring a combination of mechanical components to maximum efficiency for a specific purpose and it can not be overemphasized that such tuning is the path to superior performance with a combination of parts that must work together in a complimentary manner.
    In an exhaust system that is properly designed for it’s application, equal length pipes are generally more efficient. The lengths of both the primary and main section of pipes strongly influence the location of the torque peak(s) within the powerband. In street and track performance engines with longer pipes typically produce more low-to-mid range torque than shorter pipes and it is torque that moves a motorcycle. The question is… Where in the powerband do you want to maximize the torque? * Longer pipes tend to increase power below the engine’s torque peak and shorter pipes tend to increase power above the torque peak. * Large diameter pipes tend to limit low-range power and increase high range power. * Small diameter pipes tend to increase low-range power and to some degree limit high-range power. * “Balance” or “equalizer” chambers between the exhaust pipes tend to flatten the torque peak(s) and widen the powerband.
    Among the more astute and responsible exhaust builders, it is more-or-less understood that pipe length variations should not exceed 1″ to be considered equal. Even this standard can result in a 2″ difference if one pipe is an inch short and another pipe is an inch long.
    Exhaust Scavenging and Energy Waves
    Inertial scavenging and wave scavenging are different phenomena but both impact exhaust system efficiency and affect one another. Scavenging is simply gas extraction. These two scavenging effects are directly influenced by pipe diameter, length, shape and the thermal properties of the pipe material (stainless, mild steel, thermal coatings, etc.). When the exhaust valve opens, two things immediately happen. An energy wave, or pulse, is created from the rapidly expanding combustion gases. The wave enters the exhaust pipe traveling outward at a nominal speed of 1,300 – 1,700 feet per second (this
    speed varies depending on engine design, modifications, etc., and is therefore stated as a “nominal” velocity). This wave is pure energy, similar to a shock wave from an explosion. Simultaneous with the energy wave, the spent combustion gases also enter the exhaust pipe and travel outward more slowly at 150 – 300 feet per second nominal (maximum power is usually made with gas velocities between 240 and 300 feet per second). Since the energy wave is moving about 5 times faster than the exhaust gases, it will get where it is going faster than the gases. When the outbound energy wave encounters a lower pressure area such as a second or larger diameter section of pipe, the muffler or the ambient atmosphere, a reversion wave (a reversed or mirrored wave) is reflected back toward the exhaust valve without significant loss of velocity.
    The reversion wave moves back toward the exhaust valve on a collision course with the exiting gases whereupon they pass through one another, with some energy loss and turbulence, and continue in their respective directions. What happens when that reversion wave arrives at the exhaust valve depends on whether the valve is still open or closed. This is a critical moment in the exhaust cycle because the reversion wave can be beneficial or detrimental to exhaust flow, depending upon its arrival time at the exhaust valve. If the exhaust valve is closed when the reversion wave arrives, the wave is again reflected toward the exhaust outlet and eventually dissipates its energy in this back and forth motion. If the exhaust valve is open when the wave arrives, its effect upon exhaust gas flow depends on which part of the wave is hitting the open exhaust valve. A wave is comprised of two alternating and opposing pressures. In one part of the wave cycle, the gas molecules are compressed. In the other part of the wave, the gas molecules are rarefied. Therefore, each wave contains a compression area (node) of higher pressure and a rarefaction area (anti-node) of lower pressure. An exhaust pipe of the proper length (for a specific RPM range) will place the wave’s anti-node at the exhaust valve at the proper time for it’s lower pressure to help fill the combustion chamber with fresh incoming charge and to extract spent gases from the chamber. This is wave scavenging or “wave tuning”.
    From these cyclical engine events, one can deduce that the beneficial part of a rapidly traveling reversion wave can only be present at an exhaust port during portions of the powerband since it’s relative arrival time changes with RPM. This makes it difficult to tune an exhaust system to take advantage of reversion waves which is why there are various anti-reversion devices designed to improve performance. These anti-reversion devices are designed to weaken and disrupt the detrimental reversion waves (when the wave’s higher-pressure node impedes scavenging and intake draw-through). Specifically designed performance baffles can be extremely effective, as well as heads with D shaped ports. Unlike reversion waves that have no mass, exhaust gases do have mass. Since they are in motion, they also have inertia (or “momentum”) as they travel outward at their comparatively slow velocity of 150 – 300 feet per second. When the gases move outward as a gas column through the exhaust pipe, a decreasing pressure area is created in the pipe behind them. It may help to think of this lower pressure area as a partial vacuum and one can visualize the vacuous lower pressure “pulling” residual exhaust gases from the combustion chamber and exhaust port. It can also help pull fresh air/fuel charge into the
    combustion chamber. This is inertial scavenging and it has a major effect upon engine power at low-to-mid range RPM.
    There are other factors that further complicate the behavior of exhaust gases. Wave harmonics, wave amplification and wave cancellation effects also play into the scheme of exhaust events. The interaction of all these variables is so abstractly complex that it is difficult to fully grasp. There does not appear to be any absolute formula that will produce the perfect exhaust design. Even super-computer designed exhaust systems must undergo dyno, track, and street testing to determine the necessary configuration for the desired results. Last but not least, the correct choices and combinations of carburetor, air cleaner, cam shaft, ignition, and exhaust used in the proper relationship to each other for the intended riding application will always produce the finest quality results. Most important of all, is to do your research prior to purchasing the combination of products and equipment best suited to your individual style of riding.

Kalau kite pakai manifold bukan NA, cam 4-2-1 atau 4-1 yg kedai ekzos punya, kan kepanasan manifold tu tersebar di dalam area enjin, ade yg suh kita pakai thermal wrap.. sape ade pape komen kalau kite tak pakai atau pakai thermal wrap tu, ape kebaikan dan keburukan nya in term of prestasi enjin..

    Saya rasa ‘backpressure’ yang dihasilkan oleh SFlow bukan hanya membawa keburukan tetapi kebaikan juga ada. Backpressure merapatkan pulse ekzos dan mengurangkan tenaga menolak ekzos keluar dari piping disebabkan ‘teori vakum’. Pulse ekzos yang rapat dengan yang lain dapat menarik sesama sendiri keluar dari piping ekzos. Oleh itu, SFlow boleh dipakai untuk kegunaan tertentu biarpun kereta itu transmisi otomatik atau manual.

    oh 1 lagi. adakah piping ni akan menyebabkan kereta barah minyak. kalau nak balance kan macam mana. minyak tak barah +perfomance kereta tiptop. nak main enjin kita tak berduit. main piping jelah mampu. huuu.

    Sekarang dah mod sket extractor 4-2-1, piping macam standard cume tuka jadi stailess steel(1.6 inch BTW),pastu s-flow warewolf….
    Air filter pon da tuka yg ok nye…
    sekarang kete pick up da ok cume x bole capai top speed mcm dulu 180km/h sekarang nak capai 170 kmh pon ssh… i
    ngat lepas pasang bole naik top speed..
    ape solution yg brader2 ad?
    n ape mod yg seterusnye selain supercharge n turbo

    otai2 semua..tumpang tanye,aku gune lmst 1.3 na..so aku becadang nak tukar manifold..agak2 nye jenis manifold ape yg sesuai ek?sekarang aku gune s..flow muffler 5 zigen,bunyi xkuat,piping standert lagi 1.5.cadang nak tukar piping..tolong advise otai2 semua

    salam otai2 semua. sy nk tnye skit ni. blh bgtau setup terbaik untuk ekzos satria neo cps seperti jenis extrctor, jenis tabung tengah dan jenis flow serta size muffler yg paling optimum untk dpt performance, jimat minyak(kegunaan harian) dan bunyi yg best. harap otai2 semua dpt membantu..
