HIGH POWERED MOTORCYCLES FOR LIMA ‘09 VISITORS.
LANGKAWI, Nov 30 — Eleven high-powered motorcycles have been readied for use by visitors to the 2009 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (Lima ‘09) to avoid traffic congestion, said Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He said he suggested the measure after he visited the Le Bourget air show in Paris recently.
“When I was in Paris, I saw how effective it was to use motorcycles to get around to avoid traffic congestion,” he said.
Ahmad Zahid said he expected 50,000 visitors to be at the exhibition.
He said this to reporters here Monday after officiating the Air Chiefs Conference in conjunction with the exhibition that will begin tomorrow until Dec 5.
Also at the officiating ceremony was Malaysian Armed Forces chief, Jeneral Tan Sri Azizan Ariffin, and Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) chief Jeneral Datuk Seri Rodzali Daud.
