The official distributor of Honda cars in Singapore, Kah Motor has unveiled the 2012 Honda Civic last month. The 9th generation of the Civic in Singapore comes with new powertrain technologies including a Hybrid that delivers higher overall performance and improved fuel economy and re-engineered 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 litre in-line 4 cylinder engines with enhanced fuel economy.

The 1.6-litre i-VTEC engine will produce 125 HP at 6500 rpm and 151 Nm at 4300 rpm; while for the 1.8-litre i-VTEC engine will produce 142 HP at 6500 rpm and 174 Nm at 4300 rpm; and for the 2.0-litre i-VTEC engine will produce 155 HP at 6500 rpm and 190 Nm at 4300 rpm.
For the Hybrid engine (110 PS, 174 Nm), it will use a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine that pairs to an electric motor powered by a lithium-ion battery pack.A CVT is standard for the Civic Hybrid, which is visually differentiated by a grille decorated with LEDs and alloy wheels with less spokes. A five-speed automatic transmission with paddle-shifters is standard for the three non-hybrid Civic variants.
Features include a multi-information display screen on the dashboard, vehicle-stability assist and electric power steering. A smart key access system is available on all variants except the 1.6.
