Mazda RX-8 is one unique sports car. With the a rotary engine under the hood and the ‘coupe style’ four door sedan, it has been selling quite well. And now Mazda had introduced the 2010 facelifted RX-8 for the european market which features minor changes from the current model.
Some of the changes include a new front bumper, new headlights, and LEDs incorporated into the rear lights. The front now brings the car more in line with the Mazda 3 and Mazda 6. Although exhaust tips are now round, the triangular shape is still seen in the red reflector at the base of the rear bumper. Mazda is also using new side skirts, as well as new 19-inch alloy wheels.
Under the hood the 13B twin rotor RENESIS rotary engine delivers 231 HP at 8,200 RPM and 155 lb-ft of torque at 5,500 RPM. The compact power plant accelerates the redesigned RX-8 0 to 60 MPH in just 6.4 seconds and allows the four door sports car to reach a top speed of 145 MPH.
Inside, the driver and passenger will be held into place thanks to the Recaro sport seats that combine black cloth and leather. A new instrument cluster, steering wheel, and sound system are included, as well as Bluetooth functionality.
